The orientation of a image| Manvel, Texas Photographer

Photography is never boring, but sometimes you just have to change things up to see what happens.

Try taking a picture but change the orientation. For instance, the picture of the river in landscape orientation might look quite different from the picture in portrait orientation.

I much prefer the landscape version of this picture because it allows us to see a wider view of the beautiful cypress trees that lined the Guadalupe River. It makes you want to follow the river to see where it goes.

The portrait version of the same image seems like I am missing something. I mainly notice the water with much less trees. The water does not seem to draw me to the end like the first image does.

Do you see the differences in the two pictures?

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish as to which orientation works better with a landscape image.
