The beauty of garlic | Manvel, Texas Photographer

Elephant garlic makes a beautiful flower. We grow it every year in our garden and the last few years I started photographing it.

I love the lavender flower buds when they open there are even more pictures to take. The flowers actually get a little bit darker when they open up. Garlic is ready to pick once the flower falls off.

This year the stalks curved I think it is from the crepe myrtle in the garden shading them too much and they were trying to twist and turn to find the light.

Planting a garden is a lot of fun and watching the vegetables and herbs grow is quite rewarding.
