The reflection of a water lily | Manvel, Texas Photographer

This was our first water-lily of the year. I love the color and shape of the flower. That is a bud to the left of it about to bloom and the lily pads are floating on top of the water.

We have a few type of water lilies in our koi and gold-fish pond in our back yard. We manage to get a few blooms a year off several plants and that is pretty much it.

This was taken on an over cast day so I was able to catch a good reflection in the water without blowing the highlights of the water. The ripples are from our waterfall in the pond..

The nice things about water lilies is they bloom when they are in direct sun and they close back up when they are in the shade. One bloom can open and close for about three days in a row before it dies.
