When you are outside shooting something in a shaded area sometimes you forget that your settings are for that situation.
The other day I was shooting in the backyard and as I rounded a corner there was this perfectly posed mocking bird. I started shooting not thinking my settings were for shade. The images were totally blown out and had very little detail. I shoot in raw format so I can change that I went into Lightroom and played with this blown out image just to see what I could do.
Sometimes those images you think are really lost might not be.
